Cytoflex Tefguard is a non-resorbable membrane for use as a space-maintaining barrier in guided tissue and guided bone regeneration procedures. Tefguard is composed of a proprietary micro porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) thin film. The construction of the surface and porosity of the material is suitable for adhesion of host cells to the material while preventing passage and integration of bacteria within the interstices of the material. The supple membrane conforms easily to tissue contours, and yet offers sufficient stiffness to maintain space over the bony defect. Both smooth and micro-texture surfaces are designed to prevent tissue and bacteria ingrowth. Tefguard Textured design allows for increased flap attachment for additional localized stability. Both Tefguard options are intended for use as a barrier membrane in guided tissue and guided bone regeneration procedures.
